This unit investigates expression of artist’s work through the medium of printmaking. Throughout this course students will look at several pieces of prints and paintings to analyze the meaning and message that the artist is trying to convey through their work. Students will look at artists like Pablo Picasso, Kitagawa Utamaro, Impressionist Mary Cassatt, and Suzuki Harunobu. In all, these lessons teach students to study and interpret artwork to understand that artists use art to communicate and express themselves to the outside world.
