In this lesson students will partake in effective academic partner and group activities after being introduced to 7 different colors in English and being given English vocabulary of different objects related to each color category to gain fundamental knowledge of color.
In this lesson, students will be introduced to a fictional text. They will watch a video about what the story elements are before reading any text. They will read “Little Red Riding Hood” along with teacher. They will fill out a story element graphic organizer as a class. They will be asked true or false questions through a partner work activity. Lastly, students will complete then complete an alternative ending to the book as a class. An exit ticket will be given at the end of class as a review to the lesson of the day.
In this lesson, Students will learn about Halloween. The holiday will be investigated, and thus foundational knowledge of the holiday will be learned or acquired all while in the target language. Students will go through multiple assessments daily to make sure they are on track. These assessments are very diverse and will range from class discussions to exit tickets to assess knowledge retention. Knowledge retention is important because students will be writing about Halloween. The focus on this lesson in WRITING. By the end of this lesson, students would have gone through a writer’s workshop process to end with a paragraph on their knowledge of Halloween.
